Wherever laser light needs converting into electricity or simply detecting, Cosemi photodiodes can be used - for bandwidths ranging from 1-25Gbps or as arrays for 40G – 100G. With high responsivity and low dark current, the die are well suited to deliver high performance in the most demanding humidity and temperature environments. Sealed at the die level, hermetical packaging is not needed.

Business Applications
Cosemi photodiodes are used today by many Tier 1 companies for a broad range of telecom and datacom applications, and are an ideal fit for some of the more price-sensitive, emerging consumer applications. Fully Telcordia qualified, Cosemi devices are embedded in customers optical assemblies used to build optical-based networking systems for DWDM, SONET, Ethernet and Fibre Channel deployments. Long, medium (Metro) and short-range networking requirements can each be met with Cosemi’s product suite which includes a full range of both GaAs 850nm and InGaAs 1330—1510nm devices.

The last mile still stands as the bandwidth bottle neck and the barrier to realizing profits - driving optical based deployments such as Fiber to the Home and Home Office (FTTx). Cosemi has a full complement of long wave length photodiodes for these markets and at costs that enable more cost effective deployment.
And any infrastructure deployment where energy is an issue as with Green Datacenters – optical cables and other optical devices with Cosemi photodiodes can help to reduce electric costs.
Consumer Applications
| And as the optical world expands to new and exciting consumer applications, Cosemi stands ready to deliver on this highly price sensitive market. With tens of millions of HD electronic devices already sold, the opportunity for optical HDMI cables is enormous – and Cosemi is uniquely positioned to support this high-volume, low-cost market. |

| tipping point, optical devices become the obvious alternative – at the right price. Photodiodes represent a large component cost and in turn provide potential for savings as more traditional copper cables and infrastructure are replaced by optical based components. |
Other consumer markets including USB3.0, active optical cables and optical mobile device connectors (MIPI) – are all high-growth areas for optical components and thus a good fit for Cosemi products. |
